For the artist, it is a well established framework of organisation and publicity that promotes and supports those who live and work in Chichester and surrounding areas. The Art Trail is an unparalleled opportunity to present work to an enthusiastic public in the inspiring context of the creative environment.

The Chichester Open Studios Art Trail is for the promotion and support of artists who live, or have a permanent studio, in the current Trail area. Artists who live or work outside the area are not eligible.

The now well known Art Trail tradition of the First 2 weekends in May.
The dates are:
Sat, Sun and Mon, May 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Sat and Sun, May 8th and 9th

Online registration takes place in November for the Trail in the following May.

Registration for the Trail in May 2021 will be online, on the website, from Nov 1st to Nov 30th 2020.
No late entries will be accepted.

Each artist must register and pay as an individual. The fee for joining the 2020 Trail was £95 per artist.

The fee is under review each year.

Yes. There is a maximum of 2 artists sharing.

The Trail dates are as above. Venues are open from 10.30am – 5.00pm each day and the artist is to be present during these opening hours.

There is the option to be closed on the Bank Holiday.

Artists will be required to collect their Trail signs and Venue requirements on Collection Day at the beginning of April.

Artists will be required to provide a piece of work to be included in the Preview Exhibition in the Oxmarket during the third week in April. The artwork is to be dropped off and collected at the beginning and end of the show.

Yes, it is necessary either to have a level of computer literacy, or someone who can assist you with this. Access to the website is necessary, registration is online, Newsletters with important information for artists are sent by email, information for the Oxmarket and evaluation data both require digital input. It may be possible for us to offer support in certain cases.
