Figurative, animal and abstract sculptures in bronze, resin and fired clay. Oil paintings and drawings of local landscapes, portraiture and life studies.
I am teaching and working from this wonderful studio space my sons and I created in 2018. It is an inspirational environment whether with a class of sculpture students or on my own. I shift from working in clay to painting in oil as the mood or time dictates. I have been making large garden statues for a number of years now to create a focal point within the landscape or to direct the viewer around a space. These are up to 7 foot tall and cast in bronze or bronze resin. Studio works are often commissions both figurative and or portrait in fired clay or bronze. Lockdown allowed me the time to concentrate on honing my painting skills and I called on the extended family to submit pictures for me to paint of them as well as a local nurse whose portrait I did under the initiative by Tom Croft for NHS Heroes. I like to think that these pieces of art in clay or paint are the heirlooms capturing a moment in time for the future generations to enjoy.
