Personal Statement
The Pottery Corner was established by Sarah Amos in 2017. Sarah has a City & Guilds in Decorative Glass, and worked for many years in fused and stained glass. This led her back to clay and ceramics which had been a passion in her early twenties. She is fascinated by the endless possibilities and outcomes of working with clay, together with its ability to soothe and relax the mind. She is currently exploring the mediums of mono-printing, marbled clay and slip decoration in her own work. Sarah makes an eclectic array of items for both home and garden – both functional, sculptural and beautiful. Ever wondered if you could throw on a pottery wheel? Watched that marvellous programme The Great Pottery Throw Down and wanted to have a go? Sarah is passionate about passing on her clay knowledge to others and runs courses from her light and airy studio near Chichester in West Sussex. Come to the studio and enjoy learning to throw or hand-build with clay and join her band of talented students whose creativity can be seen in the kiln opening videos that Sarah uploads onto her YouTube Channel - The Pottery Corner.
