Hand built moulded and thrown ceramics in various clays. Unique, traditionally and raku fired works, for the home and garden.
Ceramics is an exciting medium and inspiration comes from many sources. I particularly like its unpredictability, to me my work is about the process of experimentation, each vessel an unearthing of the materials properties.
My process encompasses hand build, mould making and throwing, no technique is ruled out. There is always the constant of how different materials and techniques can be involved to further the next piece.
A process is a tool, and although some have been over done in some regards I feel like raku has so much more too be played with. Recently I’ve begun looking into pure white versions of my 'triffid' style vessels, alongside researching and taking influence from jōmon pottery (c.14500-1000 BCE Japan).
