Personal Statement

I have been painting on canvas in oils and acrylics for over 20 years and I am self-taught. My techniques include dry brushing, sponging, pouring, as well as traditional brushes and palette knives in various shapes. I use acrylic paint, acrylic metallic, gloss and pearl plus some acrylic inks. Each painting is finished with matt or gloss acrylic varnish, usually framed in a white or black floating frame. The idea of my art is to allow people to escape the every day stress, chaos, noise, pressures and make people smile, feel happy, calm and relaxed looking at my world of floral landscapes, if only for a moment. All the flowers are made up, fanciful, in my world. I paint when sitting in my garden, my studio/office or even at the dining table! I also teach painting, mainly in the winter months, from my home studio.
