Oil painting and printmaking, large to miniature sizes. Landscape, figurative and abstract adaptations from experience, investigating composition, colour and light processed with roller and brush
I was born in Epsom and grew up in Surrey and Bosham in West Sussex. I currently live in Birmingham and share my creative endeavours between my studios in Bosham and Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. I studied Fine Art at Wimbledon and Exeter and worked as a teacher of Art and Design in a secondary school in Birmingham for 15 years.
Simplicity of composition, colour and interpretation are key elements of my work. A piece of artwork or expression, should invite the attention of the viewer, to assess and enjoy the balance and creative choice of the artist.
I am exhibiting a range of landscape, figurative and abstract adaptations from my experiences of observation and draw inspiration from travelling in the UK, investigating form, colour and light processed with expressive roller, brushwork and drawing techniques. I am a keen member of a figurative drawing group and exhibit in the Midlands and Sutton Coldfield Art trail.
