Personal Statement

I graduated from Ravensbour College of Design and Communication in 1998 achieving a BA (Hons) in Interior design from the RCA. I then went on to working in TV and Film for a duration of 10 years as prop-master/Art director. During this time I co founded a company called Itsy Bitsy Vintage which entailed hand making burlesque costumes and lingerie from antique and vintage fabrics. Mixing up all eras and styles combined. We exhibited at London fashion week each year until 2016. This company is still currently active please visit www.itsybitsyvintage.com. With my wealth of creative experiences and knowledge I currently teach art in secondary schools. I do offer one to one workshops as well as group bookings. My most recent project has been tapping into my conceptual strengths and explored fluid art and spinning paint, capturing the spontaneity and movement enriched with unique ingredients of paint combinations and colours. This was an exciting opportunity to fused my passion for fashion and art together by getting my paintings printed into posters as well as onto sports wear and yoga pants as well as hand painting Victorian top hats. I use alternative ways of painting, such as chain pulling, blowing with hairdryers and straws, swiping and layering colours through sieves. There are so many techniques to share
