Inspirational fine-art photographs of dramatic natural landscapes from Patagonia to the Himalayas, Namibia to Yosemite, Chichester Harbour to the South Downs.
A former barrister, Stephen forsook the courts of law for the laws of nature to become a travel writer and photographer specialising in mountains and landscape. Diving under both polar icecaps with walrus, penguin and polar bear, trekking in Patagonia, Yosemite and the Himalayas have all been in a day’s work. He has published numerous travel articles and photographs in national newspapers, magazines and books, from Geographical to The Times and the Guardian, among others. A career spanning 25 years has been devoted to his passion and enthusiasm for wild natural landscapes. Stephen has recently moved to Pagham in West Sussex. His work still spans the globe, from the French Alps to Patagonia, as well as a portfolio in progress on the South Downs and Chichester harbour. Stephen still works with traditional film, on Hasselblad and Panoramic cameras, finding that digital cameras cannot produce the quality he needs. To this end he does all his own framing in his Pagham studio, often with natural materials sourced from the Alps. ‘My aim’, says Stephen, ‘is to produce an archival inspirational image of nature’s splendour that will give the viewer many years of pleasure’.
