Wearable hats and inventive jewellery inspired by textiles.
I have made a hat for H.M. The Queen and I find fascinators only mildly interesting. I have built a new studio to work from, where I make hats for all occasions. My hats are witty, beautifully crafted and subtly surreal. I work to commission, making hats and headdresses that are the crowning glory for a special day. I teach and run short courses in feltmaking, millinery and dressmaking at West Dean College, West Sussex and Making Space, Havant. I trained at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art. When I left I worked as a feltmaker and hatter from a studio at the Southbank, London. I had a notable client list and I designed and made 4 collections of hats a year for Jean Muir. I also worked in collaboration with Georgina Godley to make her extraordinary coats from felt and straw. My hats have been exhibited worldwide from the USA to Japan and Kazakhstan. The V&A have purchased one of my hats for their collection and I have made hats for a notable client list.
