Personal Statement

An abstract and impressionistic artist of seascapes, I use a wide variety of materials the main component being heavy body acrylic paints. I love how versatile they are and the texture you can create on a surface. A lot of the marks I make are done with painting knives, large brushes and my hands, I love experimenting, getting messy and having fun during each painting process. The water and surrounding area where I live is a huge inspiration for me, it is a great place to paint plein air, I enjoy being outdoors and trying to capture the ever changing environment. When the elements are too harsh I paint from my camper van or as I like to refer to it, my 'nomadic art studio'. My work is a literal depiction of my constant coastal travels.
