Small and large abstract acrylic paintings on canvas and board, with small items, decorative boxes. Inspired by the natural world around us.
I only started acrylic pouring in the first lockdown and have escaped into this world of colour and paint mixing which has taken me away from my safety zone of pastel portraits and oil painting. Acrylic pouring is always an exciting journey as each time is a journey into the unknown. There is such a wide variety of variables that can affect the outcome of the picture whether planned or not, which include praying to the drying gods on a regular basis to be kind. It is an addictive method which makes being a part-time artist very difficult. Art has always been very important to me as a way to relax from working in the health care profession; a way to switch off completely especially in the difficult time we have all been going through.
