A culmination of tiny abstract paintings and treasures evoking memories of places and time but in miniature. A collection of collections.
Kate has been a hoarder and collector since childhood and now enjoys curating each piece of work by producing a "collection" of "collections" all displayed in little frames, boxes or miniature galleries & glass domes. A culmination of treasures and her own miniature abstract paintings. A lot of her work is British inspired and influenced by iconic images from the very best of British cool; its creative design culture & unique rich history. Often tongue in cheek and mostly a parody.
Having been working in the creative industry for 25 years running her own graphic design business since art college then The London College of Printing she amassed a diverse range of clients, from cultural institutions, advertising, retail, publishing & editorial. As Creative Director and Trustee of an Arts Charity for seven years she co-curated annual London exhibitions at The Royal College of Art, Somerset House, and Oxo Tower, Bargehouse.
She has exhibited and sold her own artwork alongside her career. Kate works in her office/studio/kitchen/campervan at home in Bosham, West Sussex, with her patient husband, dog, some boomerang children, and a lovely view of her garden and the harbour.
She welcomes visitors anytime!
