Varied decorative and functional ceramics in earthenware, porcelain and stoneware inspired by nature and figurative drawing.
I trained with Chelsea Pottery in the 1980's becoming one of their principal pottery painters. Subsequently I became self employed creating decorative tile panels for bathrooms and kitchens. In the early 1990's I learnt to throw pottery on the wheel with an apprenticeship in La Borne France and Cardew Pottery, Wenford Bridge, Cornwall, whilst continuing to sell my own work through out the U.K. at galleries and art fairs and pottery markets. During the late 1990's I completed a BA Hons in Design for Craft at Brighton University working in wood and ceramics which led to teaching in adult education and at International School of Ceramics in Tuscany during the summer months over a four year period. Upon completing a PGCE in ArtI taught A level art before moving to Italy in 2003. I returned to UK in 2006 to West Wittering and continued to make ceramics and teach from my own studio. My interest in the health benefits of working with arts led to working with charities Apuldram Centre, Portsmouth Mind, and Richmond Fellowship and having completed a Diploma in Counselling using the Arts, I can now also offer therapy sessions using clay and other art forms.
