Landscape, portrait & natural history paintings in oil, watercolour, gouache, acrylic and pastel on a range of surfaces in various sizes.
In 1972 I left rural Cheshire and went to Goldsmiths' to train as an art teacher. After years teaching in junior and secondary schools and art college, I developed a course for adults who'd not drawn since childhood. Then I illustrated gardening, cookery and natural history books developing a tight style, later packaging for Crabtree & Evelyn, Boots & Waitrose and finally designing merchandise for The National Trust. Lastly for 7 years I ran a successful greeting card and kitchenware business while studying egg tempera and oil painting techniques.
Changing light and colour on sky, land and seascapes is now my passion though I still love painting people and natural history subjects.
