Whilst continuing to work on her tactile paintings, Heather is now creating Artist Books in wood, leather and gold leaf.
Heather a self taught artist built her reputation creating a new style of tactile relief work paintings that are meant to be touched. Commissions soon followed and include Touch Tours at Tate Modern, The Mary Rose Museum, a £5 commemorative coin of the Mary Rose, The Wordsworth Museum, Braintree and East Devon Crematoriums. Collections include the Eden Project and Hospitals in Guernsey and Northern Ireland. Her collection of 14 portraits, 'I am not who you think I am' is unusual in that each portrait has its own audio description, nearly all spoken by the sitters. The exhibition launched World Sight day at Moorfield Eye Hospital, London and has had six solo exhibitions. Heather's artistic career has been featured in the press, magazines, television and radio. She was a regular contributor on Radio Solent and the Sunday Mail magazine featured her as one of five women who turned their lives around. In addition, she was a guest speaker on cruise ships. Heather has now ventured into the world of Artist Books and works with wood, leather, plaster and gold leaf. . Her first novel THE PAINTING IN ROOM 48 was published last year.
